Laura - Founder
I’m Laura, founder of A Bag for Flo. Our mission is about far more than simply providing period products. We strive to empower people to live their lives free from the worry of not being able to afford these essentials. A Bag for Flo stops ours users missing out on opportunities at work, in education, and in everyday social life. By supporting our community, we aim to remove that barrier and help everyone thrive with confidence.

With passion I help oversee the charity’s operations, ensuring that we remain financially stable and resilient. Because when our foundation is strong, we can do what matters most—supporting those who cannot afford period products.
This work is more than numbers and budgets. It’s about dignity, access, and care. Every decision we make, every penny we allocate, helps someone feel seen, supported, and empowered.

Having worked on period poverty programmes across Asia and Africa, I saw first-hand how widespread this issue is. I was keen to be part of something closer to home, as many people don’t realise that period poverty is a serious issue here in the UK too. I don’t believe anyone should have to miss out on life because of their period.
Our Volunteers
-

Neve - Social Media
I started volunteering with A Bag for Flo because I felt that period poverty was an issue that was not being talked about enough. I wanted to help raise awareness about period poverty and challenge the stigma around menstruation. I believe access to menstrual products is a basic human right. Too many people miss school, work or daily activities because they can’t afford period products. I wanted to help change that, which is why I support A Bag for Flo.

Tina - Packing
I started volunteering with A Bag for Flo as I didn’t understand Period poverty or realise the impact it had on people’s lives. What started for me as just curiosity has become extremely important, and I’m so proud to be involved with this amazing charity.

Feeling comfortable and safe during your period should not be a privilege for those who can afford period products. I got involved with A Bag for Flo because it helps address the imbalance and injustice of those affected by period poverty. Supporting this cause is not only about period products but about removing the stigma around periods through not only education but conversation. Periods are not embarrassing, it’s not taboo, it’s not something to hide or whisper about. Period.
