A Bag for flo’s new years resolutions

Heading into 2026, I've been thinking about my New Year's resolutions. But, realising I've barely kept last year's resolutions (didn’t learn Danish, spent all my savings, and only read 3 books), I was stuck thinking of something I could realistically keep to.

So, I asked the team for their resolutions to get some inspiration and to share with you. Here's what they said:

Charity

For all of us at A Bag for Flo, reducing period poverty is a priority. With period poverty still on the rise in the UK, we are trying to grow the charity to reach as many people as possible.

This is especially true for Monika and Saffron, whose 2026 goals are to improve the financial accessibility of period products and to make a difference to women.

Personal Growth

If we want to keep making a difference, we all have to look after ourselves too! That can include trying to put aside time for some self care or meeting an exercise goal, and for Tina it's to read more.

Sustainability

Sustainability has been a huge topic in 2025. Whether it's the detrimental impact of AI or the push on renewable energy, environmental news has been in the headlines. This has got some of the team thinking how they can contribute, with Laura aiming to have more sustainable periods in 2026, and Neve is going to try and use more reusable period products like period pants instead of pads to help reduce environmental waste.

So, what will my resolution be?

Now that I've been inspired by the team, it's time to come up with my own resolution. First of all, I’d definitely like to read more (at least 4 this year!), and make more sustainable choices. But overall, I'd like to be more hands-on within the charity. This is a bit of a vague statement, so I did some research and found the “5 T’s of Philanthropy”, and these are the 3 I’d like to focus on in 2026:

  1. Talent - I plan to keep developing skills that can be used in my work for A Bag for Flo

  2. Ties - I will try to utilise the connections I have to gather support and spread awareness of the charity

  3. Testimony - I want to talk more about the work we do at A Bag for Flo, and encourage people to get involved, whether that’s with us or another great cause

What will your New Year's resolution be?
